A fire next to a railway track has blocked some Cambridgeshire trains. Some railway lines between Peterborough and Grantham are blocked on Friday morning (October 10).

This is due to a fire next to a track between the two stations. Network Rail is on site to investigate.

On the National Rail website it says: “A fire next to the track between Grantham and Peterborough means that some lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between these two stations may be cancelled, delayed up to 15 minutes or revised. Disruption is expected until 9am.”

The routes affected are:

LNER services between Edinburgh / Berwick-upon-Tweed / Newcastle / York / Harrogate / Skipton / Bradford Forster Square / Leeds / Hull / Lincoln and London Kings Cross;

Lumo services between Edinburgh and London King
