One of the biggest festivals in Northern Europe, the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (PÖFF), headed by the charismatic Tiina Lokk, has unveiled its main competition and first feature strands.

In the main section, filmmakers Abu Bakr Shawky (“Yomeddine”), Júlia de Paz Solvas (“Ama,” “Querer”), Jun Robles Lana (“Bwakaw”), Petter Næss (“Elling,”“State of Happiness”), Thomas Stuber (“In the Ailes”) and last year’s Grand Prix winner J. Sengedorj (“Silent City Driver”) are some of the prominent names vying for the festival’s €20,000 ($23,000) main prize.
