Hickory native Rob Dillingham scored seven points and dropped nine assists on the Denver Nuggets in Minnesota’s 126-116 preseason win over Denver on Oct. 4.
Dillingham, who averaged 4.5 points and two assists last season, started so the Timberwolves could rest starting point guard Mike Conley.
Dillingham missed both of his shots in the first quarter but then put in a pair of jumpers in the second. He had five points and four assists at the half.
Dillingham’s minutes were limited in the third, but he got going again in the final period. He hit a 12-foot shot with 5:38 left in the game to extend Minnesota’s lead out to 11. He also had four assists in the final period.
He followed that performance with three points and four assists in 22 minutes against the Pacers on Tuesday. Indiana won
