CLEVELAND (WJW) - Defense attorneys continued calling witnesses Friday as they try to convince a jury that Bionca Ellis was not sane when she attacked and killed a 3-year-old boy.

Defense attorneys are not denying Ellis killed Julian Wood, but said she is not guilty by reason of insanity. They told the court she has suffered from schizophrenia for more than a decade and that her mother was trying to get her help.

Her mother has also told the I-Team that Ellis has had mental health issues for years.

On Thursday, Dr. Megan Testa, a forensic psychiatrist, testified that Ellis had been hospitalized at least four times for mental health issues and has been receiving treatment since 2014. She also told jurors that when sh
