The Chandigarh Police today constituted a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the FIR registered in connection with the 'suicide' of IPS officer Y Puran Kumar. The move came hours after representatives of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities, led by D Suresh, Resident Commissioner at Haryana Bhawan, New Delhi, met senior police officials at the Chandigarh Police Headquarters, demanding a fair and time-bound investigation into the case.
