Scientists are nervously assessing the possibility of not one, but two 'world ending' earthquakes that could follow each other in a matter of minutes in the US View 3 Images One quake could potentially trigger another huge one
A potentially world-ending earthquake has got scientists increasingly concerned about the chances of a second one following quickly.
Researchers have discovered that a tremor along the Cascadia Subduction Zone in California, US, might cause another along the infamous San Andreas Fault line. “We're used to hearing the ‘Big One’ – Cascadia – being this catastrophic huge thing. It turns out it's not the worst case scenario,” said scientist on the study Chris Goldfinger in a statement to the San Francisco Chronicle.
