A major charity shop will be closing almost 200 of its stores over the next 18 months, including a handful in and around . Cancer Research UK has confirmed it will be shutting a large number of branches across the UK, of which it currently operates over 600 stores.

A total of 88 closures are expected to take place by May 2026, with up to 100 more by April 2027. Some of the stores earmarked for closure include the Cancer Research charity shop on the High Street, and Market Place, .

Nearby stores in Retford, Newark and Kings Lynn will also be closing. However the charity says that it plans to expand its out of town superstores, and has 12 new stores set to open over the next two years.

Its online market place will also close in early 2026, meaning the charity will no longer sell pre-loved
