Manchester United may be set to change hands following reports minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe could lose his stake in the club . The update comes after it emerged mechanisms are in place that could force the Ineos billionaire to sell his shares in United.
Ratcliffe, 72, won the bidding war against Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani to invest in the Red Devils towards the back end of 2023. But whereas Sheikh Jassim wanted to purchase all of the Glazer family 's shares in the club for £5.5billion, Ratcliffe succeeded with his offer of around £1.3bn for a 27.7% stake.
