Dewas: The fight against corruption scored a major win as the Lokayukta (anti-corruption ombudsman) police in Ujjain conducted a swift raid, arresting the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Tonk Khurd Janpad Panchayat for accepting a bribe.

Rajesh Soni , the CEO, was trapped inside his office at the Tonk Khurd Janpad building while accepting a sum of ₹20,000 in bribe money.

The action came following a complaint filed by a local Assistant Secretary to Lokayukta Superintendent of Police Anand Yadav. The complaint alleged that Soni had demanded the cash to process the transfer of a Gram Rozgar Sahayak (Village Employment Assistant) to the Navda Gram Panchayat.
