A social care worker has been struck off after being caught in a paedophile sting.
Alessandro Citti committed an offence contrary to Section 34 (1) of the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009 and was convicted in February this year at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court.
Now his social care career is in tatters after the industry regulator, the Scottish Social Services Council, (SSSC) stepped in and removed Citti’s name from their register.
On February 27,2025, Citti was convicted of charges relating to sending a sexual written communication to a child he believed to be 14 years-old. The child was, in fact, an adult.
The messages were said to be “sexually explicit” and of an “indecent nature” and were sent on dates between May 8, 2023 and August 24, 2023.
