PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — This morning in Providence, Crossroads Rhode Island will celebrate the opening of its expanded housing program.
Crossroads will host a “ribbon tying” ceremony for the Summer Street housing development.
The apartments are billed as supportive housing for people experiencing homelessness, and offers more than 170 permanent homes for formerly homeless residents.
Senators Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse will attend the opening, along with Providence Mayor Brett Smiley, and other local and housing officials.
That ceremony is at 10 on Summer Street.
