The Democratic National Committee has initiated a media blitz that targets Republican U.S. Rep. John James for his and his party’s opposition to extending the Affordable Care Act tax credits, an issue at the core of the federal government shutdown.
The DNC is focusing the ad campaign on James, who represents most of Macomb County and part of Oakland in the 10th District, and fellow Michigan GOP U.S. Rep. Tom Barrett, who represents the seventh district in the west side of Southeast Michigan, along with seven other GOP members of congress members, DNC officials said. In addition, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is taking aim at 28 additional members of Congress, officials said.
