MONROE COUNTY, Pa. — A crash in Monroe County left one dead on Friday morning.

State police were called to the crash near mile marker 295 along I-80 West in Pocono Township around 7:45 a.m. Friday.

A car in the center lane struck another car that was slowing down for a crash ahead. The driver in the center lane died at the scene, and two passengers were taken to the hospital.

The highway was closed between Exit 299 (Tannersville) and the Interstate 380 split, but reopened around 11 a.m.
