Washington: The US government left no stone unturned to push for the Nobel Peace Prize 2025 to be awarded to Donald Trump.

On Friday afternoon, though, all their hopes were dashed as Venezuela’s main opposition leader Maria Corina Machado was declared winner of the coveted prize.

Responding to the jury’s decision, the White House took a subtle dig at the Nobel Committee, saying they chose politics over peace.

“Once again, the Nobel Committee has proved they place politics over peace,” a White House statement read.
