Bhubaneswar: Around a month after announcing One-Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme for traffic rule violators to settle pending dues, the Odisha government has issued a fresh notification listing reduced rate of fines for various offences.

The notification issued by the Commerce and Transport Department has laid down substantial relief for vehicle owners who have pending e-challans for Motor Vehicle Act violations. ADVERTISEMENT

Under this scheme, defaulters will be eligible for a 50% reduction of fines for traffic violations committed on or before July 31, 2025.

The scheme applies to various offences under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988.

However, challans for which prosecution reports have already been submitted to designated courts are not eligible for this scheme.
