Police in Dedza have arrested Sungani Pitala Jumbeki in connection with the murder of police officer Mphatso Namwada, who was killed last month in Chikufikani Village.

This latest arrest brings the number of suspects currently in custody to four, following the earlier apprehension of three others linked to the same case.

Confirming the arrest, National Police Deputy Spokesperson Alfred Chimthere told Zodiak that Jumbeki is expected to appear in court soon to face a murder charge.

Chimthere also noted that investigations remain ongoing and that more arrests are anticipated as the case continues to unfold.
