When a federal jury returned a decision in favor of Amethyst Deasy in a harassment lawsuit against Northern Arizona Healthcare (NAH) on May 29, it looked like the 3-year-old case brought by the former nurse might finally have reached its conclusion.

But nearly four months later, the judge overseeing the case issued an order -- based, in part, on a defense motion filed just hours before the end of the trial -- setting aside the jury’s verdict and ordering a new trial on the grounds that new allegations introduced by Deasy during her testimony created “a fundamental unfairness on Defendant at trial.” Copy article link
