BEAUFORT COUNTY, N.C. (WITN) - A motorcyclist was killed this morning when troopers say he hit a deer just before sunrise.

It happened on Pungo Creek Road outside of Belhaven just before 7:00 a.m.

Troopers say 31-year-old Brandon Batchler was thrown from his motorcycle and died at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.
