A detective who was part of the Madeleine McCann case has claimed a "stalker" gave police "eight reasons" as to why she was the missing toddler.

The trial of Julia Wandelt 24, and Karen Spragg, 61, continued today (October 10), with both women accused of stalking the McCann family.

During the trial, one of the detectives who previously worked on the case to find Madeleine, Det Con Mark Draycott, told the court he was contacted by Wandelt in June 2022.

She allegedly claimed she was the missing three-year-old girl. Madeleine's whereabouts is still officially unknown as the twentieth year approaches since she disappeared from her family's apartment in Praia da Luz in Portugal.
