BENGALURU: TT Jagannathan, chairman emeritus of the TTK Group and the force behind the Prestige brand that transformed India’s kitchens, passed away in Bengaluru on October 9. He was 77. A mechanical engineer from IIT Madras and an MS graduate from Cornell University, Jagannathan joined the family business in the early 1970s after a brief stint turning around Tamil Nadu Printers & Traders. At just 26, he became managing director of TTK Prestige Ltd in 1975, steering it from a small cooker company into one of India’s most trusted consumer-durables brands.
