Bengaluru: While several areas of Bengaluru are crumbling with poor infrastructure, waterlogged roads and traffic jams and city residents are suffering, Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge said that traffic congestion is actually a “good problem to have.” According to him, the packed roads show Bengaluru’s growth. Kharge is currently serving as Karnataka’s Minister of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj.

Speaking at the Mobility Symposium 2025, Kharge said that Bengaluru’s fast growth is reflected in its traffic issues. “About 75.5 percent of Bengaluru’s population is part of the working population. We rank fourth globally. It’s a good problem to have traffic issues — it shows we’re growing, though we must solve it,” he said.
