BELL COUNTY, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety has released new details on the fatal crash that shut down Highway 95 for hours yesterday.

According to the initial investigation performed by the department, a 2017 Ford Mustang driven by 20-year-old David Jackson of Temple, Texas, was driving southbound on FM 95. While traveling, a truck heading northbound, a 2017 Chevrolet pickup driven by 35-year-old male, crossed into the path of Jackson's car, causing a collision.

Police pronounced Jackson deceased on the scene.

The driver of the Chevrolet truck was transported to Baylor Scott and White for non-incapacitating injuries. Authorities have not released his identity at this time.

The investigation into the crash is still ongoing.
