A hulking visage of 17-time WWE world champion John Cena holding aloft a glittering belt looms above the line to enter Perth’s RAC Arena ahead of his appearance in the ring in front of a packed house on Saturday night.

Cena – a bona fide A-lister – is currently in the midst of a protracted farewell tour as his career transitions from headlocks to Hollywood, a well-trodden path many wrestling stars have made over the years.
