A council run nursery was placed under the microscope during an unannounced spot check on its service provision. ‌

Cairns Early Childhood Centre, on Altonhill Avenue, Kilmarnock, was graded ‘good’ across four quality indicators. ‌

And children led “creative play,” with staff extending learning through “responsive interactions” and “thoughtful questioning.”

Children benefitted from a “welcoming environment,” although hygiene, supervision, and resources required “ongoing attention.” ‌
