An employee was pistol-whipped during an armed robbery at a Porterville business Thursday morning, authorities said.

Tulare County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 10:40 a.m. to the Cosecha Recycling Center on the 1300 block of East Springville Avenue after a suspect entered with a gun and demanded money, the sheriff’s office said.

The suspect struck the employee in the face with the gun, causing cuts and knocking out teeth, before running away from the scene.
