Claire’s shops across the UK are starting to shut down after striking a rescue deal which saved it from administration.
The jewellery and accessories business filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators in August – with Interpath expected to take on the role in the coming days.
Earlier this week, administrators agreed to sell 156 of its 306 stores in the UK and Ireland.
They’ve been sold off to investment group Modella Capital, a move which secured about 1,000 jobs. However, that does mean 145 Claire’s branches will close permanently, the brand confirmed to Metro.
Three stores – London Oxford Street West, Macclesfield and Limerick, Ireland – have already closed, Metro understands.
