The driver of an airport shuttle bus was at fault in a July crash that killed a shuttle passenger and injured 10 others near Denver International Airport, Commerce City police said Friday.

The police department is recommending that the driver be charged with careless driving causing death, careless driving causing injury and failure to yield, according to a police news release. No charges have yet been filed. The 17th Judicial District Attorney’s Office will consider the case next.

The July 12 crash between a pickup truck and the shuttle bus happened at the intersection of Tower Road and East 81st Avenue, according to police. The shuttle bus, headed south on Tower Road, was waiting to make a left-hand turn on a flashing yellow arrow.
