It’s not a retail store, but Hamilton’s new Ikea facility on Glover Road, minutes from the Amazon fulfilment centre at Aeropark Boulevard, will feature a collection point for customers to pick up orders.

Hamilton’s 480,000-square-foot facility will replace an existing distribution centre in Mississauga, The Spectator reported in 2022.

The purchase of 65 acres of land at 212 Glover Rd., near Twenty Road East, cost the multinational furniture company $82 million . Ikea acquired the property from Paletta International Corporation.

Progress on the new distribution centre is moving forward, with the facility expected to open in the summer of 2027, a company spokesperson confirmed in an email.
