The volunteer lifeboat crew at Redcar has responded to a record number of call-outs so far this year - with several mental health incidents. Redcar RNLI has responded to more than 100 shouts so far this year.
The charity said that the figure has continued to climb entering October and there's still two months to go before the year end. Throughout the year the station's volunteers have attended shouts to sinking fishing boats, people caught in rip currents, missing persons along the coastline, jet skiers and paddleboarders in trouble as well as the rescue of at least a couple of dogs and their owners.
The crew will always respond to a request from the Coastguard to launch the lifeboats when someone is in trouble in the water or cut off by the tide.
