A real-life nightmare before Halloween unfolded when two thieves allegedly stole a 13-foot-tall animatronic Jack Skellington, swiping the spooky showstopper straight from a front yard in Corona, California.
Avelina Rodriguez of Corona, California, told Fox 11 that the towering Halloween decoration was the centerpiece of her family's Halloween and Christmas displays — and a neighborhood favorite.
The decoration, based on Tim Burton’s 1993 classic The Nightmare before Christmas, also had sentimental value. Rodriguez said her granddaughter has been obsessed with it since she could talk — literally. Her very first word was "Jack."
Security footage shows one thief scooping up the giant Jack before another speeds away with it. Rodriguez filed a police report and urged anyone with information to contact the Corona Police Department.
"It would mean a lot to me — it would be like a Halloween miracle for me," she said. "I know there's Christmas miracles, but it would be a Halloween miracle. It would make me really happy and would make my family happy, and it would just go to show that there's hope."

According to a local report, the decoration originally sold for about $300, but sold-out models can fetch more than $1,000 online.
