Police officers and vehicles have been stationed on Greenwood Road, Nottingham

Police have evacuated a number of homes due to an incident in a Nottingham suburb. Witness Nadeem Mohammed said a number of properties had been evacuated in and around the Ashworth Close area of Bakersfield .

He said police had been stationed in the area for several hours and officers have been going "door to door" asking people to leave their homes.

"There were there all day, going through a house and everything," he said.

"They have come round this afternoon and told us to leave. There were a lot of police going round door-to-door."
