Cindy McCain is recovering after a medical emergency.
On Thursday (October 9) it was revealed that the 71-year-old widow of the late Senator John McCain experienced a minor stroke while visiting the headquarters of the United Nations World Food Programme, of which she is executive director, in Rome, Italy.
After receiving treatment, Cindy was cleared to travel and returned home to Arizona, where she will continue to recuperate for up to six weeks.
“I want to thank the medical staff in Italy for the excellent treatment I received,” Cindy shared in a statement, via the WFP’s website . “My recovery is progressing well thanks to their outstanding care. I look forward to continuing my recuperation at home in Arizona with my family.”
