CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - Due to heavy flooding from high tides, Highway 80 is currently closed.
This information comes from the Tybee Island Police Department , who says “Highway 80 between Bull River and Lazaretto Creek is temporarily closed due to an unusually high tide.”
WTOC meteorologist Andrew Gorton says the tide peaked at 10.35′ at 11:36 a.m.
This marks the 8th highest tide on record at Fort Pulaski.
WTOC is on the scene and will update viewers when the road becomes useable.
