SOUTHAMPTON, Mass. (WWLP) - The Southampton Police Department has welcomed a new comfort dog, Simba, to help residents and first responders.

Simba is certified through an AKC-approved organization and was funded by donations. He is assigned an evening shift with Officer Hurley and is assigned to offer comfort to those in high-stress situations.

The department will be hosting a Meet and Greet event for Simba in the near future.
