Varanasi, Oct 10: Legendary musician AR Rahman is all set to mesmerize audiences on the ghats of the Ganga in Varanasi, marking his first-ever performance in the holy city, as part of NDTV Good Times’ new live concert and cultural experience platform.

Speaking to actor-musician Shruti Haasan on NDTV Good Times Soundscape, Rahman reflected on missed opportunities to visit Varanasi in the past. “I missed the chance many times — first around 1997, and then for Raanjhanaa. I also wanted to meet Ustad Bismillah Khan’s family, but couldn’t go. I think the opportunity has come now,” he said, noting that the city’s “energy and a million stories” will inspire him beyond the performance itself.
