CLEVELAND — A 17-year-old wanted in connection with the September mass shooting in The Flats was arrested Thursday after a police chase and foot pursuit, according to the Cleveland Division of Police .

In a press release sent Friday, police said the arrest was part of the department's ongoing Violent Crime Reduction Initiative in District 3 that was launched by Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine and Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb in 2023. According to a release from DeWine's office, a total of eight people were arrested and six illegal firearms were recovered in the multi-agency operation.
