LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) -- The Lansing Charter Commission has updated and adapted the language on city-run webpage. The webpage and a mailer from the Commission had been subject to criticism.

“Our landing page at www.lansingvotes.gov/yourcharter was updated to reflect the same language and wording in our first educational mailer for consistency purposes, and was not the result of any recent public comments. The page is continuously updated with new educational materials, including the recent addition of a video presentation on the proposed charter revisions. We encourage residents to review the video and all the contents of the landing page,' Charter Commission Chairman Brian Jeffries said in an emailed statement. The statement was in response to a 6 News inquiry about the language change.
