Bhubaneswar : The Odisha Government has approved the Food and Paddy Procurement Policy for Kharif Marketing Season (KMS) 2025-26, which will commence on October 1, 2025, and conclude on September 30, 2026. The policy aims to regulate all aspects of paddy and rice procurement in the state.

The state government has fixed a tentative target of 63 lakh Metric Tonne (LMT) in terms of rice for KMS 2025-26, which translates to around 93 LMT of paddy. The procurement target for Kharif season is 73 lakh MT, while for Rabi season, it is 20 lakh MT. Paddy will be procured from registered farmers at the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
