SPOKANE, Wash. — The City of Spokane announced that on-street parking meters and kiosks will not require payment on Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
In a press release on Friday, the city said that although the parking is free, time limits still apply. The city also said its offices will remain open as usual on Monday. Garbage, recycling, and food and yard waste curbside services will also operate on a normal schedule.
The Spokane City Council’s agenda review and legislative meetings have been canceled in observance of Indigenous Peoples’ Day. The council will resume its regular schedule on Oct. 20 at 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m.
