CLEVELAND (WJW) – Shedeur Sanders has been named the backup quarterback this week against the rival Steelers.
The Browns quarterback hasn’t seen any action on the field since the season started.
Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed the news in Friday’s press conference.
Some fans have been clamoring to see Shedeur on the field, especially with the team’s 1-4 record.
Dillon Gabriel was named the starter.
The Browns have had an active week, trading Joe Flacco to the Bengals and CB Greg Newsome to Jacksonville.
Browns play at Steelers on Sunday at 1 p.m.
