ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Significant developments in the Middle East on Thursday. Israel has approved a ceasefire resolution with Hamas.

Hours after its approval, Atlanta News First sat down with Consul General of Israel to the Southeastern United States, Eitan Weiss.

The hope remains that in the coming days, all 48 remaining hostages, 20 believed to be still alive, will return to their loved ones in Israel. It marks the first phase of this ceasefire agreement, including Israel’s military withdrawing to an agreed point, while releasing what Weiss says are Palestinian terrorists.
