DARE COUNTY, N.C. — The approaching coastal storm has forced multiple cancellations and closures across Dare County this weekend.

Dare County Parks and Recreation announced all indoor and outdoor activities and games scheduled for Saturday, October 11, have been canceled in the Northern Beaches Division, Roanoke Island/Mainland Division, and Hatteras Island Division. Make-up schedules will be released once available.

The Dare County Cooperative Extension Yard Sale at the Thomas A. Baum Senior Center in Kill Devil Hills, originally scheduled for Saturday, has also been postponed.

In addition, the Town of Duck announced the cancellation of the 2025 Duck Jazz Festival, which had been set for October 11-12. Officials cited high winds, heavy rainfall, and potential flooding as safety concern
