BERLIN, CT (WFSB) - Utility companies said they have been preparing for what is shaping up to be a powerful coastal storm.

Channel 3’s meteorologists said the storm looked to bring 1 to 3 inches rain and 30-40 mph wind gusts Sunday into Monday.

First Alert Weather Days were issued.

Eversource said it has been closely monitoring several forecast models.

It said it has been prepositioning equipment in critical parts of the state in advance so they can quickly respond if needed.

The energy company said it is also bringing in additional outside lineworkers to assist with potential power restoration efforts.
