Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski had some good news for Shedeur Sanders this week.
Stefanski originally declined to name a No. 2 quarterback behind rookie Dillon Gabriel following the trade of Joe Flacco to the Cincinnati Bengals.
That changed on Friday.
The Browns head coach has named Shedeur Sanders as their backup quarterback to Dillon Gabriel against the Steelers on Sunday.
Sanders, who said he leaned on Joe Flacco for wisdom, will take on the top backup role after the Browns traded the veteran quarterback to the Bengals on Tuesday.
Cleveland will go with a pair of rookies under center on their gameday roster while Bailey Zappe remains on the practice squad.
