Tulane held off ECU from pulling off an upset on its home ground during the last minutes of the Week 6 game. The Green Wave suddenly collapsed in the second half, and the Pirates swopped in to make use of the free room. Jake Retzlaff ultimately helped the Tulane offense somehow keep the fight alive, but state was so bad in the later part of the game that an unsuspecting Tulane saw ECU tie the score at 19 before the 4 quarter.
