Yanchep is preparing to welcome their first koala joey in 15 years — with the suburb’s national park sharing the very first glimpse of the baby.

Last October , a seven-year-old koala from Ballarat named Miffy was unveiled to the WA public — arriving at the park alongside Louie and Franklin Doogsie, two young brothers from South Australia.

Ten months later and it appears Miffy and Louie have found a true connection, with park rangers confirming several weeks ago the duo is now expecting a bundle of joy!

Yanchep National Park senior ranger Phillipa Jarvis Carboon said the park’s team was ecstatic about the baby.

“It’s what we’ve been working towards very definitely in all earnest for about the last six years, so it’s a really big achievement,” she said.
