BOZEMAN — Idaho State head football coach Cody Hawkins felt “physically sick,” he said , after his team’s 42-38 loss to No. 4-ranked Montana last Saturday in Pocatello, Idaho .

Five days later, Hawkins’ stomach remained upset, both because of that game and what’s on the horizon. The Bengals’ next three games are at No. 5 Montana State, home against No. 14 Northern Arizona and at No. 6 UC Davis.

“Whether we won that game or not, I'm not going to bring cake to the office on Sunday and say, ‘Congrats, we beat the Griz, the season's done.’ We know we’ve got to play the Cats anyway,” Hawkins told 406 MT Sports on Thursday, adding, “I felt awful on Saturday, but I felt awful for our guys. If I want to fix that, I can't pout about it. I’ve got to get back to work.”
