The mother of an eight-year-old girl who died after falling ill at school has paid a moving tribute to her.

Olivia-Grace Huxter has been named locally as the primary school pupil, from South Wales, who died on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Penrhys Primary School, near Tylorstown in the Rhonda, after she suffered a medical episode. Despite the efforts of staff and paramedics, she sadly died at hospital.

Her mum, Melanie, has now opened up on her grief as she paid a heartbreaking tribute to her daughter, WalesOnline reports.

She wrote online: "My beautiful, beautiful baby girl, I can't eat, I can't sleep without you.
