LOS ANGELES (CNS) -- Two women from Colombia suspected of creating a fake profile on a cleaning app, gaining access to residences in the San Fernando Valley and burglarizing them, have been taken into custody, police announced Thursday.

Investigators identified the two women as 30-year-old Nikol Quiroga and 49-year-old Sandra Aguillon, who were booked at the Van Nuys Jail on suspicion of grand theft, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Detectives from the Commercial Crimes Division, in a joint investigation with FBI and California Highway Patrol Major Theft Force personnel, executed search warrants on Sept. 30 at the homes of the two women, along with their vehicles, where they recovered $50,000 in cash, jewelry, high- end handbags, Wi-fi jammers, and burglary tools.
