The Buffalo Sabres will have to wait to know the extent of Josh Norris’ injury.
Head coach Lindy Ruff announced on Friday that the centre is still undergoing evaluation, but that the team doesn’t expect him to play Saturday against the Boston Bruins.
Norris, 26, was injured off a faceoff on Thursday night against the New York Rangers.
Norris was slow to get up after falling to the ice on the neutral zone face-off. He eventually got up and made his way slowly to the bench but did not take another shift.
After the game, head coach Lindy Ruff didn’t have a concrete update on Norris.
“He didn’t finish the game,” Ruff said Thursday night. “So I’m gonna say that’s not a good sign.”
Norris has a history of injuries, including after he was acquired by the Sabres from the Senators last year.
